“Sunday Afternoon”
“Contemporary realism as a genre owes a deep level of gratitude to the life and career of risk-taker Richard Schmid, who carried the torch for realism throughout several decades until it reemerged in popularity in the mid-1990s,” wrote former Arts editor of American Art Collector Magazine, Joshua Rose.
“Nancy Painting”
Schmid’s art and teachings have impacted the lives and careers of artists worldwide, among whom are talented American painters Nancy Guzik, Judy Stach, Timothy R. Thies and many others.

Tina Garrett
Tina Garrett is one of the most well recognized women artists in American Contemporary Art.
Her paintings center on emotion and mood, and they often contain dramatic light or atmospheric effects. Her works tend to evoke an undefinable resonance— haunting and laced with mystery. Such is Tina’s wonderful paintings “Zephyr”.
Tina has earned recognition as an Art Renewal Center Living Master, (ARCLM) and holds a Master Artist designation from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society.
Judy Stach
A lifelong resident of New Jersey and a part-time resident of Florida for over thirty-five years, Judy Stach’s intimate understanding of life along shore is reflected in her oil paintings of seascapes and landscapes which come alive with children at play, sailboats breezing by, and gardeners tending flowers.
“Sail-sail-away”
“Birkshires”
Her painting style is impressionist/realist, painting from real life (en plein air) and photographs, often combining both techniques to complete a painting using the full range of colors, values, and light found only in Nature.
Johanne Mangi
Some form of art has always found a place in Johanne’s life and animals of all sorts captured her attention. She was well known as a child in her neighborhood visiting all the neighbors’ dogs and cats and even collecting a few along the way. What she didn’t realize was that she couldn’t keep them. That was back when people let their animals roam.
Her marvelous painting “Borzoi” shows a good natured, gentle and calm dog of an aristocratic breed exhibiting sensitivity and a sense of humor.
“Heart and Soul”
