The Hong Kong Association of Southern California celebrated the 31st Annual Chinese New Year Gala
On February 4, 2023, 200 members and guests of the Hong Kong Association of Southern California (HKASC) gathered to celebrate the 31st Annual Chinese New Year Gala. The Gala was held at the San Gabriel Country Club in San Gabriel, CA.
The Hong Kong Association of Southern California (HKASC) aims to facilitate business opportunities and strengthen the economic relationship between Hong Kong and Southern California, through mixers, seminars, galas and other events.
HKASC is a member association of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide (FHKBAW), which provides its partners with connections to over 13,000 business leaders in 30 countries.
This year’s HKASC Chinese New Year Gala celebrated the Lunar Year of the Rabbit with music, entertainment, and food.
In Chinese culture, the Rabbit is the symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity. According to the Chinese calendar, the inherent qualities of this positive creature are optimism, kind-heartedness, sensibility and high approachability. People born in the Rabbit year are said to be gentle, kind, skilled at avoiding conflict, and are earnest with everything they do.
Wilson Tang, HKASC President, opened the Gala.
He cordially congratulated the members and guests of the event with the Chinese New Year and wished everyone good health, happiness, peace, optimism and prosperity. He wished that the coming year would bring the fulfillment of all bright hopes and aspirations.
Tony Ding, Mayor of San Gabriel, an honorary guest of the Gala, also congratulated the participants of the event on the upcoming Chinese New Year.
He thanked the Board of Directors and all members of the association for their contribution to the economic and social prosperity of the region. He expressed hope that the HKASC will continue to be as passionate about supporting and investing in the community as ever.
Robert G. Luna, the 34th Los Angeles County Sheriff, an honorary guest of the Gala, congratulated the members and guests of the festivity on the Chinese New Year.
He wished everyone good health and prosperity. He expressed hope that the joint efforts of the law enforcement structures and residents of the county will be a reliable guarantee of creating a comfortable and safe life in the region.
Leech Tishman, a continuing sponsor of the HKASC, participated in the 31st Chinese New Year Gala as a Platinum Sponsor.
The festivities were held in a lively joyful atmosphere. The event featured a silent and live auction that included exciting raffle prizes.
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the evening of networking with others in the Southern California business community.
